SRI and/or the moderators do not necessarily endorse the links, styles of Reiki or methods taught. We encourage each and every one of you to research the individual styles you are interested in and proceed at your own pace.
Usui Reiki:Developed by Mikao Usui, brought to the West by Hawayo Takata.
“Reiki is an enlightenment system and a healing art. Some focus more on one aspect than the other. That is, some teach Reiki only as a healing system while others may teach it only as a spiritual system. Either is Reiki. Reiki is primarily used in the West (i.e., the United States, Europe, Australia) as a healing system.”

“Karuna is a Sanskrit word and is used in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is translanted to mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others and could also be translated as "compassionate action." “
