Wearing chrystals

Dear all,

When I am feeling insecure or there is a lot of negativism around me I always wear my tiger eye.
It is a donut which I wear around my neck.

It works good and give convidence, but have a question though.

Since I wear it around my neck it is very close to my troat chakra. A tiger eye is not related to the troat chakre. So could it have a negative effect?

I personally dont think it would matter. The crystal will be doing what it can for you, and if it can help one of the chakra's it's related to, then it probably will :) I doubt it will have a negative effect on the surrounding areas not related though. They're there to do the best they can for you, so i dont think they'd meddle with something they shouldn't.

Anyways, the way i think of it, Most people would have no problem with a crystal in their pocket, so having it around your neck is no different (except that people can see it :P) because even if it's in your pocket it does it's job :).

Hi Johan,

From what I've heard, the only way you can be harmed by a crystal is by putting it in water to make an elixir. Some crystals and stones have traces of copper, aluminum, and other bad substances, so drinking this kind of elixir would not be good. (List of such stones here.)

I do not think that wearing a tiger's eye around your neck would be harmful. The same goes for any other chakra, too. If it were true, then my sacral chakra would be very messed up, as I carry quite a few crystals in my pockets all day. :P

Johan,
I don't believe it would matter where you have it.  Like Reiki, the energy will go to where it is needed.

I have an amethyst point I wear on a leather strap around my neck and a rose quartz chip anklelet.  I feel they assist me even in those areas.

I agree with the others Johan  ;D

I've never felt any ill-effects from any of the many different crystals I've worn around my neck.  I know some people recommend that you wear the correct ones for that chakra, but that can be impractical if you want to work on your base chakra or crown chakra.  I guess that's where ethereal crystals really come into their own, isn't it?

I'm so glad you love your tiger's eye.  It's one of my favourites too  ;D

They sure do  :) I've never really been worried about wearing the correct crystal for whatever chakra.  I just go by intuition and wear which one feels right for me on that day and use the energy from them through my body.  If I've needed a bit of a boost, I've used ethereal crystals as well

Yeah I agree with the others on this I dont think it can harm you but, its your intuition!! If you dont feel comfertable wearing, by all means TAKE IT OFF!  ;D There could be some underlying factor that we dont know about.

I know Im going to sound like such a noob, I really dont know much about crystals... but did you cleanse it. I heard sometimes negitive energy can reside inside?

Oh you guys!!!!

I went to exchange my rose quartz ankelet yesterday as the string had snapped.  While I was there, the lady who has the 'rock' business had a magnificent piece of Celestite on display.  Unfortunately, it wasn't for sale, but this lady broke a point off and gave it to me....FOR FREE!!!  I couldn't believe it...I was actually stunned that she did that...

You should feel the energy coming off of this thing!  All I want to do is just sit and hold it and stare at it, (my precious..lol) it is just so unbelievable beautiful!!!  She also gave me a small piece of Lapsis and I bought a chunk of blue calcite, a tigers eye and a piece of chrysocolla to add to my little collection!

As you can see, I am very excited about it... :D

I am trying to start a new message board on another forum ( the one that led me to you fine folks!!!  woo hoo) to discuss crystals and stones.  I just read a post there about how crystals travel...that they are never really ours and they go where they are needed...How very true!

I spoke earlier here about the rose quartz chip anklet I have.  Well, I broke it but thankfully managed to find all the chips to return it to the lady I purchased it from and either have it replaced or fixed.

She replaced it.  Funny thing tho, this one feels so unbelievably spectacular in my hands...all I can say is, it fits...it's comfy...like a chenille blankey!...the energy is may more intense it this one, I can't say for sure...it could even be from the same piece for all I know...but it feels sooo good...

And it made me think about what she posted...and how true her statement was.  I didn't need the other one and it obviously didn't need me either...

That's wonderful Tamara. I've heard that crystals break or get lost when we don't need them anymore, so perhaps that anklet had served its purpose. :) It sounds like the new one likes you. ;) I hope you enjoy it.

I just adore crystals and I am studying them at the moment. Are you sure you didn't tie the crystal too tight round your neck, lol. Only joking. It is unlikely that it would affect your throat chakra.

Once when I walked into my salon I saw a stone on the floor, I never found out how it got there, guess what it was a tigers eye, I still have it and its only very small must have come in on someone's shoe.

I have an affinity with amethyst, and have a few big pieces. They are my birthstone. I decided to buy some more stones and walked around the store and settled on a stone called celestine its pale blue. I decided to read about it and guess what its the stone of Gemini my husbands birth stone, hows that for coincidence.
