Now, as for the fingers together thing.....yeah, sometimes it is needed, but i find that a lot of the time if you do that you push too much energy into the client at one time and tend to overload them. I personally have to purposefully keep my fingertips apart for a more gentle healing.

past life flashes hey i hope they were good  :) don't worry about feeling like a kid in a candy shop, it is very good f that people know that reiki attunements are not 21 days of doom, gloom and issues.

I remember my reiki1 attunement done at my home due to bad health issues, I felt great and went round reiking everything it was great fun  :) just one point you would be amazed by the number of people who don't know that when doing reiki you should keep all your fingers closed together, the energy flows out of our palms and down our fingers  :)

No it is impossible  :) push too much energy into the client at one time tends too overload them ? is impossible reiki is not sent it is drawn by the client, they draw through us the energy they need no more and no less  :) it is very important to keep your fingers closed your master/ teacher should know better again poor training  :(

Edit, Oct 2004, Please throw ego out of the window, we donot have any energy of our own, we are channels for the reiki energy nothing more  :) how can you push or overload a person with reiki when the energy is drawn  :)

Love and Light,

Mick

Heh, possibly bad trainign as i really didn't have all that much training, BUT i don't really deal with just reiki as much as a whole slew of other stuff, i still find that a slower approach rather than giving the client a huge head rush is better.

Hello all ! Please help me !
I make a sef attunement 5 days ago, with the grassroots pages and i am not very well. Every day i feel headachy !  :'(
And my hands are often very hot. I think that come from the attunement.
If someone know what to do to reduce this symptom, please tell me !
Love and peace to all!

Please tell me how to make self attunement. I have just finished Dr. Usui Reiki I last Saturday. Today when I pratice this morning I felt that something was moving (like scratching) on my crown, is it normal?

Yes it is normal to feel your crown chakra after you have been attuned.  Or self attuned I suppose as the title of this thread is "teach yourself"... :)
I felt alot of activity in my crown chakra after I started reiki, Hawk, so do not worry (just for today) ;)
Lots of practice, lots of water amd lots of meditation are good now.

I think that getting attunements over the internet is a great way to begin, but that it is still a good idea to try to have attunements and training done in person. It is a different experience.

There are a couple of places where I live that will do in person attunements. The problem is that they charge a lot of money. I don't get a good feeling from the way they promote themselves either.

Yes I wondered about the image attunement as well  ???
It seems a bit strange to get attuned to master level of reiki just by looking at a picture
Is this really feasible?

Craig,
In my mind and experience...no, it does not make anyone a reiki master...
and again in my opinion...even if it did, it would be very unhealthy because....you really don't want to go too fast...
and then the issue of the title Master..well that is another huge discussion......masters

It is easy to get a real attunement though, with guidence and caring...check out our masters offering free attunements here...masters....

I've never heard of the fingers together thing either
« Reply #37 on: December 14, 2005, 07:25:38 AM »
I've had 2 different Reiki masters and neither ever mentioned keeping fingers together.  Its certainly worth playing around with though.

I just had a Karuna Ki distance attunement done and it knocked my socks off.  To be honest I was still a tiny bit sceptical even though I know that Reiki transcends distance.

The only thing is that now I have to find all the information over the Internet instead of being able to ask the master in person.  That's ok though, its how I found this group!  I have a feeling that I'll learn a lot from here.

I had never heard about "keeping your fingers together" before someone here used to talk about it as being important....

I find that sometimes I do that when I am working on someone.  It can make the reiki seem more intense and "directable"....

But also having the fingers apart slightly, feels better for balaning and gentle reiki...

Just my personal observations... :)
Welcome to SRI arikara, by the way... ;D
