Reiki Recipe Question
« on: January 25, 2004, 03:46:06 PM »
Good morning, dear friends...

Did a little bit of my own reiki recipe...I mixed my violet flame visualization with an oral karuna ki chanting.....(zolar - ohm - zolar)..whatever...and drew the zolar symbol over and over....(all this kept me very busy)....but WOW....how strong it was!  My client (poor hungover husband) reported feeling strong vibrations and much more energetic.  The energy was going from his head right down to his feet....

Question is:  when the energy gets to the feet, am I supposed to swoosh it away from the body...my friends say ....  get rid of it..sweep it out.....what happens if I just let the energy stay down in his feet (I did ground him and make him drink water like you instructed.)  Feel like this is a dumb question.....but asking it anyway.

Hi Nitya,

.....because I think they mean it would be the good energy pushing out the  "bad energy", "toxins".  But to definitely swoosh out the toxins with your hands thru the feet or head.

Aha, I see.

Well, I like to say to my students to stay active and not to consume toxins anymore.
Sport is a very good thing for processing toxins otu of the system.

Does anyone else have a theory about this?  Do any of you use this technique?  I am most curious.  From Nitya's answer, I deduce that it is not necessary.

Your thoughts?

Your thoughts?

Hmm.
I think it is up to you, as a reiki healer.

Go with your intuition...

Angel,
I have also been instructed by masters/friends -to swoosh- but my understanding is it is to seperate your aura from theirs. I always spend a bit of time, at the end of a session, on the feet to help with the clients grounding process. It often feels that alot of insight or message come through the feet. Is this "old "energy? I don't know, just thinking on it a bit.

This may not help at all.
I was originally taught to 'flick' the old energy to the ground so it did not 'go' on anyone else.
Then I joined a new sharing group and was asked to please not leave it 'laying around' and to flick it to the universe.
Apparently the universe is up there and not down there  ???
Anyway it didn't seem to make much difference to me or the person receiving the healing.  So now I do the same dance as the rest of the cast when with a group.
Personally I prefer to clap my hands lightly and rub them together from time to time.  That's probably in a book somewhere.
A client's three year daughter was helping to give mummy some Reiki and saw me do the hand clap and rub.  She did it too and the little grin we shared is one of my cherrished moments of Reiki, so it must work.

personally, i see no problem with "swooshing." leaving a large amount of energy in one place can sometimes cause an imbalance. it can have its uses though, depending on what you're doing. but for the most part, i think it more important that one have clear channels than large maounts of energy flowing through them. if a patient needs more energy afte ryou clear it out of them, just give them some water or tea afterwards. it grounds them, and provides them with jing. if someone needs energy, the universe will provide whther they actively intake it or not. when someone gets attuned, what's important is taht their pathways are cleared, not that they are given alot of energy (mainly anyway....certain attunements can be energy intensive, but that's the basic philosophy, right?). swoosh all you like, if intent is to clear away negative energy, than that's what will happen.

IMHO this all boils down to intent. I remember a chi gung teacher saying he used to pull our negative energy and flick it off into his pot plant. The plant died. After a lot of meditating he came to the conclusion that he should think of rebalancing rather than getting rid of negative energy and so he started thinking of the energy as excess energy rather than negative. Result: the next pot plant thrived and grew very big quickly.

There is nothing unless we think it so..... You could therefore just put a hand on the feet and a hand on the top of the head and intend balance or trust reiki to balance or bring it all up to be stored in the dan tien and used as the body needs it.
