YOUR role in your request for attunement
« on: January 19, 2006, 04:03:59 AM »
This subject came up in another thread and I thought it would be nice to give it its own home  :D

One thing you all should realise is that the more open you are to the attunement the better it will be :D

I've only had one person ask me to re-do it as they felt nothing the first time it was done :o but that once was enough for me to question whether I had done it "right".  As I do the same for each attunement I couldn't find a reason why the attunement wouldn't be felt so strongly by this person so something that time was changed.

I realise how hard it is, especially when you are new to "all this" to believe and put what you've been taught to one side but really ..... that's all it takes.

Believe ;D  Trust ;D

You only have to do this one time and your way of looking and feeling things will change immensly :D  If you have any questions on this please do ask them, many people will answer, both old and new members - even if you just want to talk about it, here is the place ;D

This is an interseting point Jenn
I think expectation kiil the magic we might expereince
Trusting that the attunement is going to be complete and trusting the person who is attuning us  is  very important
I have been attune to 3 differents kind of reiki
Each one was very unique ..very different

the one that i ddin't feel much compare to others was actually the most stronger one ..i realised it after i start using it in my practice .whenever i send the intention to use that particular style  energy flow abundantly and instantly...with extreme power ..
If i have told myself at the time of the attunment that the feeling was not that great ..I would for sure have thought that i need another one or i need to change the teacher ..
What i 'm trying to say that we  are all different the way we receive the energy and the way we use it ..Not feeling anything does not mean attunement  have failed
I would say wait ..start practicing and little by little energy will grow ..
In heart
Sumer
Peace

When I was first attuned to Usui I didn't know it happened but after I received EC I felt it and  my Angels Flame attunements hit me hard. I am also attuned to Kundalini which I didn't feel very much. I did the Gold and now I am being attuned to Tacyon and I feel it a little sickish to my stomach.

I did my first attunement a couple of weeks ago and I was afraid it didn't take but the person I attuned e-mailed me and told me he had a wonderful experience. I was thrilled and it boosted my little ego alot. He wants me to latter attuned him to EC.

Great Kathy,

It is nice to get feedback too isn't it :)  One thing I've not mentioned here either is that the attunement is also extremely nice for the person sending it ;)

Whilst I'm on here I would like to point out that the overall reiki experience that YOU have is entirely up to YOU.

The more you practice and work with the energy the better you will "feel" it.  Its the same with attunements, the more experienced you become the easier and better you will be at them.  I remember my first few, constantly opening my eyes to read notes to make sure I was, in fact, doing it right.  Now it just flows ... my eyes are shut, I visualise the person I am attuning and the whole thing is just so nice now :)

Once the attunement is done you must work with the energy.  If you just self heal once in a while you won't get the benefit of feeling the energy running through you.  Like now, when I ground I actually get tingles running down my legs (and that's not due to poor circulation :))

On a final note, the journey you pick is yours alone.  However much you do or don't do is entirely up to you.  Yes we can all offer advice and help but when it comes down to it ... the choices you make will have a bearing on the outcome you get ;D

Love and light

Jenn,
This is a very important topic and I am glad that you are bringing it up.  I think it really needs to be said and understood that the responsibilites also lie, in part, with the attunee as well and the attuner.  I am a firm believer (from my own experience) that the more the energy is 'used' the more powerful it will become!

I thank you for this topic!
A K-point for your brilliance (yet again)

Sincerely
Tamara

Thanks LFS :)

I know it is important because each and every time I attune or re-attune I have to go over and over this again and again.  I know it takes a lot of confidence to trust in the energy and believe that, even as a new person to the energy, that you have such a HUGE part to play right from the very start.

Easy for us elders :) to look back and see just how simple it all is ;)  Ah, and thanks,  a point to you too for being so supportive :)

This has been a good thread to me.  When I first started, I decided I would take students (almost certianly, at first, for free) no sooner than one year afte I started with Reiki.

Now, some of my friends have chronic problems that I'm trying to help them with, and to some extent have been getting overwhelmed.  I'm considering teaching one, maybe two, people Reiki I... and I'm just not sure how to be sure I'm ready to do this.  Again, this would be personal friends, and not for pay, but even so...  it's a big responsibility, and I guess I'm having doubts whether I'm ready.

Aster,

If you have doubts then you are not ready.  You have to learn to go with your instinct.  It would be better to teach a little and get the best out of it than to teach more and not enjoy it don't you think?

As I've said before only you can chose which way you want to go down a particular path ... but whatever path you do take you need to enjoy or it will seem wrong.   Ah, also, please do think through the whole process before you agree to take anyone on as to decide halfway through that you cannot continue would be worse than simply saying "I cannot at this time" right at the beginning.

Just my thoughts for what they are worth ;D
