Reiki On Animals

I heard of people using Reiki on animals, and I was wondering if people who've done this would like to share their experiences  (not sure if this has already been discussed... or even if this was put in the right forum   I know I consider my pets to be my children as well though... )

I had come across some sites, including www.healingforanimals.com that uses Reiki energy to heal animals.

I have a sick moggy at the moment and have been trying to give him reiki.  Unfortunately he doesn't like it.  Saying that though, he doesnt like anything right now.

I'm finding that when THEY want it THEY will come to you.

I find it all depends on the animal. I had a cat that died in November and she was always very responsive to Reiki, even when she wasn't ill. She would sit very still on my lap and I'd be giving her Reiki, then she would turn around so my hands were on other parts of her body where she wanted healing done. She would even sit or stand in awkward positions so she had my hands on the right part of her 

My only cat left now, Prim, doesn't really care much for it, but then again she hasn't been poorly since I've had her 

And this is the perfect place to put this, I am sure most people consider their pets as their children  ... I know I do

I have a leetle doggie who doesn't care for reiki much.  She has displaced hips so we try to keep her quiet but it is hard as she's just over one years old.

I do find though that when she has been running and her hips are playing her up she will come to me for reiki.

That's the only time though, if I try at any other time up she gets and gives me an awful look as she swaggers away

My cat likes Reiki a lot, just like he's into anything that makes his life comfortable and enjoyable. Sometimes I just pet him and sometimes I give him a little treatment and the difference is that when we just pet, we can go on for hours but when it's a Reiki treatment, he will get up and leave when he's had enough

Thanks again for sharing!  I love the way Reiki can be used on other creatures / items besides humans... I'm still new to this so it all just fascinates me on how many different uses reiki has.  Especially stories about reiki and animals... it sounds like they can sense the energy?  I think once I become more experienced I will experiment with the thought of animals and their extra "senses"...
