Hello Mohammed and MArko
I'm wondering how they combine sufism and reiki
Sufism is  a path of love a state of being ..and a whole lot of tremendeous work on one self ..I have never heard it is the short cut to GOd
Sufism is about seeing one GOd ..to all .oneself ..about looking into the heart and find your answers there
It is a universal  practice based on LOVE..to ALL releigions and beings ..and creatures...
I have  been practicing suffism ...I'm a big fond of RUMI's teaching and poetry and Hafiz ...
I'll be sooo curious to see how they made the approach and apply it in healing ,,

Hi Mohamad& Sumer,

I am glad u know anything about sufism. Really sufism is not so known, yet. Those beatiiful poems that Sumer mention are jewels in religious poetry...
Mohamad I would like to say that real mistyc sects in all of the religions are much closer one to another, than main religions are...if u know what I mean...for example-in orthodox-christianity which is mine religion only Zylots(this is most orthodox sect do mention something like chakras ,calling them centers of a prayer...)
There are 2-3 sufi reiki groups this one is located or governed from Kuala Lumpur...other are in London and they are more, lets say money oriented, which doesnt mean they are not good...
reikisufi-english  is the name of the group

Hi Marko

Thank you very much for your explanations . Yes they are great poems. What a pity that you are not able to read them in original language ( Persian ) becuase the translation can not  convey the meanings compeletly, especialy in peotry.
I joined the group today  ;) If you may have noticed, my photo  at SRI is the whirling  dance of Dervishes in Sufism . ;)  :P

dear Marko
It is really sad when people misuse any kind of spirituality for amusement ...tehn going deep to its real essence and meanings
when dervish dances ..with every step  he goes around there is nothing in his mind and soul "LAILAHA ILLA ALLAHU "which means ..There  is no GOD but GOD who is omnipresent everywhere in every single particles in his creation and this is the ultimate invocation of unity and oneness  that suffism is all about ..is about THAT ONE .and the whirling is a reminder to all the universe and the planet s around us and the cycle of life that keep moving around ,,This Dance have been Channeled to RUMI  during his spirtual practice and it started by him ..one foot remain on the floor represents the axis and the other move representing  the  circle  of the the universe ..one arm or hand open  up to receive  from above and the other face down to release back to MOTHER EARTH ..It is the most exquisite elegant dance that flow in magnificent way i found it to be

I do agree with you i found tha thte transaltion of Rumi's poetry in ENGLISH was pretty fair and moving
be well

Hey Sumer
I saw a travel program in which the presenter was talking to some dervishes in Iran I think.
What I found interesting is that they said the reason the Head was tilted (As if decapitated) was representing seperating from the Ego/personality and just BEING in the Dance

Does this seem true to you Sumer

Hello Tim
In a way yes ,,,it does represents let go of the ego and merge with everything else ..teh way they dress is very symbolic too
the fact their   heads  look tall, wearing felt hats signifying the tombstones of their egos. They wear long, white robes with full skirts which represent the shrouds of their egos. Over those are voluminous black cloaks representing their worldly tombs which they remove at the beginning of the ceremony to symbolize their deliverance from the cares and attachments of this world.

Have  you ever watch them whirling ?..there is so much grace in
every move

Dear Friends
I am new to this forum, and having gone through all the discussions almost a year ago . I

would like to add on to some information.Modern day SUFISM orignated in Iraq, by Khwaaja

Hassan Basri who was the companion of Prophet Muhammad's (P.B.U.H) friends (Sahaba) and was

trained by Hazrat Ali (R.A) and others. Hazrat Ali (R.A) was also the cousin of prophet and

his son in law who derived the sufi path from the Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). This is

further authenticated by Prophet's saying (Hadith) that, i am the city of knowledge and Ali

is the gate to it. This sufi knowledge is transferable as well as it is done through

practice under a  guide. There are five basic schools on sufism.

1. "Qadri" derived from Sheikh Abdul Qadar Jelani of Iraq.

2. "Naqsh Bandi" derived from Khwaja Baha-u-Din Naqsh Band in central Asia.

3. "Sohar Vardi" derived from Khwaja Shahaab-u-Din Sohar Vardi of Iraq

4. "Chishti" order main teacher in India known as Khwaja Moeen-u-Din Chishti.

5. "Qalandri" the main known teachers are Laal Shabaaz Qalandar in Sehwan Shareef Pakistan.
and Lady Rabia Basri in Iraq and Boo-Ali Qalandar in Panipat India.

They were all spirtual healers as well as preachers of Islam and would do the healing

through Quranic Verses and Zikar (chanting various names of God).

If anyone needs information about Sufism and Treatment may contact me and if requires

spirtual healing are welcome. I mostly deal all cases of diabolism and various diseases free

of cost.
May ALLAH bless u all.

Azhar Majeed Sheikh,
May ALLAH bless u all.

On 8th of March the 963 annual day of one of the great sufis of his times Syed ALI BIN USMAN Hajveri commonly known as Data Gunj Buksh was held in Lahore Pakistan where thousands of deotees from all over Pakistan and World came. He has been a source of spirtual guide over the centuries. Though he wrote many books but unfortunately his only book available is known as KASHFUL MAHJUB in Persian language. This book has been translated in various languages of the world and many known Intellectuals and Sufis have written commentries on it. The common report on it is that, if no body finds a teacher in Sufism one should read it. He has been such a powerful sufi/saint that people over the years have claimed including non muslims that they have met him physically and obtained guidance from him though he left for final abode centuries ago. The famous ones the main Chishti Sufi Khwaja Moin-Ud-Chishti (Ajmer INDIA), Allama Iqbal (Nation Poet Of Pakistan) were among them. Today his tomb in Lahore is a place of spirtual strength where hundreds of devotees visit daily 24hrs a day, to seek the spirtual strength from all religions. More over common people visit to seek relief from materialistic pressures and for the acceptance of their prayers. Food to the poor is distributed all along 24hrs and the recitation of Quran is done simultaneously along with others prayers.
We are planning to launch his web site very soon. Any one requiring information about him is welcome!
Azhar.
May ALLAH bless u all.

                                                     SUFISIM

I have been studying various healing systems and found many similarities in practices of spiritualism. To elaborate it I would like to give a brief introduction of Sufism so that it would become easy to under stand. We should also keep in mind that no religion is devoid of spiritualism because if we pull the spiritual effect out of any religion the only thing then left is material and then it is either capitalism or socialism. It will probably give you all luxuries of life but not peace in heart. For example as we see  lot of famous show business stars who are filthy rich and enjoying fame but their personal lives have become hell. God has created every thing in pairs, two eyes and ears two holes in nose two feet two hands even heart has two parts so on and so forth. Human is composed of two parts matter and spirit and in Sufism we try to keep a balance in between the two that is why in Islam, monk hood is prohibited and all the Sufis married and had families
In Sufism way of reaching God is known as ‘Tareeqat ‘.  And to qualify to practice Tareeqat one should be well conversant with the laws of ’Shariat’ which is the laws governing the daily lives of individuals. According to some the word  Sufi is derived from word Soof  and represent to the Prophet  Muhammad “s friends  who used to wear dress made of thick lamb wool  known as Soof   and were entrusted to write Quran as and when it was revealed . They used to live in the prophets mosque and are also known as ‘Ashab e Suffa.I have found more clear meaning  or its root ,for the word philosophy which says The word "Philosophy" is derived from the Ancient Greek - philosophía (compounded from phílos: friend, or lover and sophía: wisdom). To quote from WikiPedia, "Philosophy is the discipline concerned with the questions of what is the right way to live (ethics), what sorts of things ultimately exist and what are their essential natures (metaphysics), what is to count as genuine knowledge (epistemology), and what are the correct principles of reasoning (logic). The Sufis existed from very beginning, with different civilizations. According to my view point, that when the Roman empire was defeated by the muslims, transfer of knowledge took place, many of the books and knowledge was translated into Arabic which was amalgamated into Islamic order or what we call it now a days remixed The Romans and Greeks adopted it from the civilization from whom they took the power and so on and so forth that is the basics remained the same but the practices went on to change accordingly with the time . Infact Sufis remained in every society for guidance to society ,even in the days of Prophet Mohammad[pbuh] there was a Sufi by the name of Awais Qarni in Yamen, both of them never met each other .prophet designated his companion Umar and Ali to visit him gave his location where they will find him ,and as gift he gave his shirt and told them to request him to pray to God  for the forgiveness of the believers as prophet pointed out that God will forgive  the muslims equal to the hair of the sheep of two biggest tribes of Arab with his prayer. May be we can put Buddah Guru Nanak, Confusious,Bahgat Kabir etc in the category of Sufis as well..
Sufis in Islam followed Laws of shariat[Islamic system of living] as well as practiced Sufism ,known as Tariqat. It is said in Sufism that ,if Shariat is the tree ,Tareqat is its fruit. If you see some one flying but is not practicing Islamic system do not believe him. The best thing about Sufism is that they love the humanity, and follow the Quranic injunction,”There is no compulsion in religion.’’ Accept me as your Lord alone, I am alone and was not given birth by some one nor I have given birth to some one.’’
May ALLAH bless u all.

                                       Sayings OF SUFIS
"Whoever enters that Station of the Dhikr of the Heart will experience and reach the Essence of Allah's Name. It is the Sultan of all Names, because It encompasses all Their meanings and to it all Attributes return. It is like the word for all these Attributes and that is why it is called, Ism al-Jalala, the most Majestic Name, for He is the Highest and He is the Glorified and He is the Greatest."
"It is impossible through the understanding of the mind to harvest the fruit of these secrets. The human body cannot encompass the Realities of the Meaning of God. It is impossible for human bodies to reach the Hidden Kingdom of the Unique One. For the People of the Essence, there is only wonder and astonishment; once they enter these Stations of Hidden Knowledge; they are lost, wandering. What then about the People of Attributes, those people who are of such high quality that there appears on every one of them an Attribute of Allah, dressing and decorating them? Yet they cannot be decorated by the Essence of the Name which encompasses all of the Names, except by entering into the Hidden Secrets of all ninety-nine Attributes. At that time they will be allowed to reach a state of Unveiling of the Light of the Name Encompassing all Names and Attributes, the name Allah."
"As the dhikr enters and strengthens in his heart, he will ascend until he reaches the state in which he perceives the dhikr of everything in creation. He will hear everything reciting Dhikr with him in the manner that Allah destined for it. He hears each of Allah's creations, its own tone and melody distinct from any other. His hearing of one does not affect his hearing of another, but he hears them all simultaneously and distinctly and he is able to differentiate between each different kind of dhikr."
"As the seeker passes through that state, increasing evermore in Dhikr, he will see that everyone that Allah created is reciting the same Dhikr as himself. At that time he will realize he has reached the Perfect Unique Oneness. Everything is making the same dhikr and using the same word. Any kind of differences will be erased from his vision, and he will see everyone with him at the same level with the same Dhikr. This is the State of Unification of Everyone in the One. Here he will completely root out all forms of hidden Shirk and all creation will appear as One in the One. This is the first of seven steps on his journey."
SECOND: "From the state of Unification he will travel to the State of the Essence of Unification, in which everyone who was Existing will be Annihilated, and the Oneness of Allah Alone will appear."
THIRD: "Then he will travel to the Primordial State of Perfect Simplicity, where he will be able to appear in any image."
FOURTH: "From there he will travel to the State of the Keys of the Secrets, known as the State of Names, in which the archetypes of the creations are made to appear from the Unseen into the world of manifestation. This will make him swim in the orbit of Names and Attributes and he will know all its Hidden Knowledge."
FIFTH: "Then he will travel to the State of the Hidden of the Hidden, the Essence of all that is Hidden. He will know all that is Hidden through the Unique Oneness of the Essence. He will see all its powers and all its forms."
SIXTH: "From there he travels to the State of the Perfect Realities of the Essence of the Names and Actions. He will appear in them all, in their atoms and in their totality. He will be dressed with the Most Glorified Name and he will be glorified by being crowned with the state of Greatness."
SEVENTH: "Then he travels to the State of Allah's Descent (munazala) from His Glorified State to the States of the Worldly Heaven. He arrives at that State, nearest the Worldly Station, beyond which the Reciter of the Dhikr has no state to reach through his recitation. Dawn comes to his inner self and the Sun of Perfection appears through himself and in his body, as it has appeared through dhikr, in his heart and in his spirit. As a result, when the Sun of Perfection appears in his body and his limbs, he will be in the state mentioned in the Prophetic Narration, "Allah will be the Ears with which he hears, the Eyes with which he sees, the Tongue with which he talks, the Hand with which he grasps, the Feet with which he walks." Then he will find himself and declare to himself, 'I am helpless and abjectly weak.' Because at that time he understands the Divine Power."
"Never sit without doing recitation or dhikr, because death is following you."
"The happiest moment for a human being is when he dies, because when he dies his sins die with him."
"Every seeker who doesn't accustom and train himself to fast during the day and wake for worship at night and serve his brothers, will achieve no good in this Way."
(sayings of Syarafuddin ad-Daghestani qs.)

"I do not speak to you about any Station (Maqam), Manifestation (Tajalli), or Rank (Rutbah) without my having already entered that station or position and experienced that Manifestation. I am not like many others, I do not speak separating my sight from my heart, enumerating the Stations (Maqamat) for you without my knowing their Reality (haqiqah). No! First of all I followed that path and saw what it was. I learned those Realities and Secrets which may be found along it, and I worked my way along it until I obtained the Knowledge of Certainty ('ilm al-yaqin), the Eye of Certainty ('ayn al-yaqin), and the Truth of Certainty (haqq al-yaqin). Only then do I speak to you, giving you a tiny taste of what I have tasted, until I am able to make you reach that station without tiring you and without difficulties.
"There are five stations of the Heart: qalb, sirr, sirr as-sirr, khafa and akhfa. Qalb is the Heart, sirr is the Secret, sirr as-sirr is the Secret of the Secret, khafa is the Hidden, and akhfa the Most Hidden. The secret of this Way is based on these five lata'if (Subtle Things), the Stations of the heart.
"Latifat al-qalb, the stage of the Heart, is under the authority of Sayyidina Adam, because it represents the physical aspect of the heart." "Latifat as-sirr, the station of the Secret, is under Sayyidina Nuh, because it is the Vessel which is saved from the Ocean of Darkness, salvation from the flood of ignorance."
"Latifat Sirr as-Sirr, the station of the Secret of the Secret, is under two Prophets, Sayyidina Ibrahim and Sayyidina Musa, who represent Allah's Divine Presence on Earth. Allah made Ibrahim  the symbol of all His Khalifs on this Earth, as mentioned in the verse of the creation of mankind, "I will create a vicegerent on earth." [2:30]. Musa was blessed with hearing and speaking to Allah which are the two essential attributes of knowledge."
"Latifat al-khafa, the Hidden Station, is under Sayyidina Isa (Al-Masih). Because of his relationship with Hidden Knowledge, he represents spiritual understanding."
"Latifat al-akhfa, the Most Hidden Station, is under the Reality of Sayyidina Muhammad saw, because he was granted a station high above that of all other Prophets and messengers. He was the one who was raised up, in the Night of Ascension, to the Divine Presence. This is represented by the Kalima (Sacred Phrase), because there is no la ilaha illallah without Muhammadun Rasalullah. "
"The light of the Heart is a yellow hue; the light of the Secret is red; the light of the Secret of the Secret is white; the light of the Hidden Station is green; and the light of the Most Hidden Station is black."
"These Five Stations are the center of the Nine Points, which represent the locus of Revelation and Inspiration of the Divine Presence in the heart of the human being. These Nine Points are located on the chest of each person and they represent nine different hidden states in every human being. Every state is connected to a saint, who has the authority to control that point."
(sayings of 'Abdullah al-Fa'iz ad-Daghestani qs.)
N.B.Here NOOH  means Prophet Noaha,Ibraheem means Abraham Musa means Moses Isa menns Jesus[May God have mercy on them]

Listen to your heart  Part 2

Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being.
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Everything that hearts find of worries and sadness is because of what they have been denied of beholding Allah.
- One of the Salaf

Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.
Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of.
If you are good, be better.
Action is the biggest measurement of knowledge.
To understand the heart and mind of a person, look not at what he has already achieved, but at what he aspires to do.
When there is an original sound in the world, it makes a hundred echoes.
The need to be loved is childish, immature. The need to love is mature.
Every man dies, but not every man truly lives.
Reputation is what men and women think of us;
Character is what God and Angels know of us.
Do not ask, 'Where is God?', but ask, 'where am I?'
Knowledge is proud that it knows so much;
Wisdom is humble that it knows no more.
Knowledge is understanding that a tomato is a fruit;
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
- Mutma'inaa's Collected Pearls of Wisdom

Learn the wisdom of compromise, for it is better to bend a little then to break
- Jane Wells

Do not wrong [others] and you will not be wronged.
- Qur'an [2:279]

As for the people of Tasawwuf, they affirm the love of Allah, and this is more evident among them than all other issues....the affirmation of the love of Allah is well-known in the speech of their [old] and recent masters, just as it is affirmed in the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah and in agreement of the ways of the early generation (Salaf)
- Taqi ad-Din Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah qs

In the time of the Rasulullah (salAllahu 'alayhi wasalam), tasawwuf was a reality without a name. Today tasawwuf is a name, but few know its reality.

He who practices Tasawwuf without learning Sacred Law corrupts his faith, while he who learns Sacred Law without practicing Tasawwuf corrupts himself.
Only he who combines the two proves true.
- Imam Malik bin Anas (rahimullah)

My companions are like stars, you will be guided by whichever one you follow.
- Muhammad (salAllahu 'alayhi wasalam)
[Musnad of Imam Abu Hanifa, al-Baihaqi and al-Daylami]

Among the principles of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah lie the attitude of peace and purity of their heart and tongue towards the Sahaba (Companions) of the Prophet (saw).
- Taqi ad-Din ibn Taymiyyah qs
[The Creed of the Middle Path, Sharh Al Aqeedah Al Wasitiyah]

Iman is not something that I just "perform" in a place of worship.
Iman is life.
Iman is how I interact with Allah during all the breaths that I take.
- Shaykh Habib 'Ali al Jifri

In eloquence there is magic,
in knowledge ignorance,
in poetry wisdom,
and in speech heaviness
- Muhammad (salAllahu 'alayhi wasalam)
[Abu Dawud 41 #4994 - narrated Buraydah ibn al-Hasib]

Oh writer! An Angel watches over all you write. Make your writing meaningful for it will eventually return to you and you will be questioned about what you wrote.
- 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (radiAllahu 'anhu)

If someone devotes himself entirely to Allah (awj), He will provide him with everything he needs, and if a person devotes himself entirely to this world, Allah will leave him in its core.
- Shaykh 'Abdul-Qadir Jilani qs

Verily, the next life is better for you than this life.
- Qur'an [93:4]

We must learn to live together as brothers
or perish together as fools.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Beware of this world, for it is sweet and tempting
- Muhammad (salAllahu 'alayhi wasalam)

Whoever does not hold his tongue cannot understand his Deen.
- Al Hasan al-Basri qs

True devotion is for itself:
not to desire heaven
nor to fear hell.
- Rabi'a al-'Adawiyya qs

I seek forgiveness from Allah for the lack of my sincerity when I say I seek the forgiveness of Allah
- Rabi'a al-'Adawiyya qs

"Say: Allah is my all. In Him do (all) the trusting put their trust."
- Qur'an [39:38]

Dear Friend, Your heart is a polished mirror. You must wipe it clean of the veil of dust which has gathered upon it, because it is destined to reflect the light of divine secrets.
- Shaykh 'Abdul Qadir Jilani qs [The Secrets of Secrets, p. XLIVII]

When people have despaired of reaping a harvest, God sends down rain. He spreads his blessing across the world; he is the glorious guardian. Look at how he created the heavens and the earth, and all the creatures that he has spread across the earth. The creation is merely one among many of his signs. If he wanted, he could gather the heavens and the earth and all the creatures into one place.
- Qur'an, Surah Ash-Shura [42:27-29]

Shall I tell you who is kept away from Hell and from whom Hell is kept away? From everyone who is gentle and kindly, approachable and of an easy disposition
- Muhammad (salAllahu 'alayhi wasalam) [at-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1315]
