I'm freezing....

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum and to Reiki.  I stumbled across the sercrets of reiki site (I believe, with free attunements) and requested them......

Yesterday morning is when I received them - I seemed out of sorts and time flew yesterday morning.....but I have been cold since and can't seem to warm up.  I know its winter here in New Hampshire, but we are now in a "heat wave" from what this weekends weather was.

Any insight?  I'm also trying to do the self healing excerises as outlined in the "Essential Reiki" by Diane Stein

Yup...hot/cold.....nauseau/headaches....heard of them all....flu symptoms....and then some people experience nothing at all.  Your energy level is supposedly changing...dont worry....I will send you some reiki...

Hi Candy,

Welcome to the forum,   like Angel says don't worry its nothing to worry about you will be fine, do you mean reikisecrets.com ? if so there are no reiki secrets, and on this forum we share what we know.  

I have Diane Steins book bought it many years ago its very good in my opinion, keep doing the self healing daily, and drink plenty of pure water if you can it helps to flush out any toxins in your body.

Hi there Candy,

As Mick explained, all sorts of wierd things happen during attunement.  I felt out of sorts, a bit fluey and headaches galore.

Hi Candy,  sending you Reiki and some of our beautiful warm sunshine.
Do you meditate/visualise?  
If you can use the balancing calming processes of meditation the atttunement 'effects' may pass quicker.
During meditation it may help to visualise the connections of your energy/body systems becoming more balanced.  
This is not just the basic seven chalkras from head to tail but all the 'minor' ones throughout your body, particularly arms, hands and legs.
Generally these areas do not come to our attention very much, energetically.  Reiki can increase the awareness with some people and this may be felt as cold or even warmth.  
Experiments with different hand positions and visualise the energy flowing throughout your body may help warm you up.
Works good here, did I tell you it is the middle of our summer

I must say, I've either imagined or felt some different "things" within the last 24 hours!!  Maybe someone can tell me if I am imagining this stuff or not.....

I visited a forum that I frequent and opened up a message - there were two pictures of a Sheltie type puppy - I didn't even read the message and my hands (palms/fingers) started to burn/get real hot feeling.  This happened again about 4-5 hours later when I was taking my horses in.  That started when I picked up the halters and stopped when I brought the last one in.  And, a little later last night my husband and I were on the couch watching the news and I had my feet up against his leg and they started to burn (which never happens....I have cold feet, due now!).  A few minutes after this, he told me to quite shaking the couch - to me I wasn't doing anything......

Please tell me I'm imaging this......and thank you all again, I'm enjoying reading the posts

Candy -

No - not in your imagination at all....when you start to feel weird like that, go put your hands on something.....plant, husband, yourself. The more you heal, the less the weird sensations will be...and the meditation is vital.  It will all make your 21 days go a lot easier.  I just read in Diane Stein's book that when she gives someone an attunement and their hands are hot, she immediately gets them to start healing another student.

P.S.  I remember, I  was little pissy too.  In and out of bad mood now that I think of it.

In relation to the feelings you experience.  There are other 'realities' beyond those we understand, maybe your awareness has expanded.
My first Reiki attunement was over three days in a community hall with about thirty people.  Imagine the various responses that you have heard about, we had a few interesting ones too.  Because we were in a constant Reiki environment for the three days I was able to observed the changing individual responses.  I also assisted later at other group attunements and observed the process of change.
So my suggestion is to observe you responses and ask about them.  Somewhere someone may just have had a similar experience.  Also note the changes as your energetic and physical systems become balanced with your new energy.
By the way the hot foot or cold foot responses can be balanced by placing the sole of one foot on the calf muscle of the other leg.  If you can do this while doing hands on it is even better.
Part of Reiki is that we are all different.

most of what i'm about to say has already been addressed, but i kinda skimmed over the thread so i'm gonna throw in my 2 cents anyway :-p
As everyone's already said, what you are feeling is completely normal. The odd sensations after the attunement are often associated with a 21 day cleansing period some people undergo. Personally, i've never been aware of such a cleansing after an attunement (rather, prolongued period of uncomfort) so i think the idea is that you shouldn't be worried unless you still get wierd flashes after 21 days.

As far as the tingling in your hands is concerned...well, that's kind of what the attunement accopmlishes :-p. that tingling is your new sensitivity to energy. as someone previously recommended, try running your hands over (about an inch away from) some living plants or rock crystals. also, you might try a simple 20 minute meditation just to see what happens. Just get in a comfortable position, play some relaxing, long music, turn out the lights, and just focus on taking deep full breaths for 20 minutes.

have fun with your new attunement, and don't be afraid to experiment
