to my understanding, there do exist centers like this, but you have to have started your training with one of their registered masters to get their certification.l i don't think there are any institutions that have a standardized enough form of testing to take in someone off the street and give them a certification from their institute.
as far as the benefits, i suppose they are 2 fold. first off, recieving certification from your master gives one a sense of accomplishment, but i supose it's a little too late for you to benefit from that huh:-p. the other benefit, is in case you want to work officially as a healer in a hospital, or spa, or even in private practice, it can make you appear more legitimate if you have a certification of some sort.
otherwise, i usppose it means absolutely nothing.
