You are right about that actually, and I do know and understand that for myself - it's a bit like when you're learning to drive, staring at that traffic cone you're not supposed to crash into and crashing into it simply because you were staring at it instead of the focusing on the freedom of the open road ::)

simply make a shield of a white light around you using the second symbol of emotions , powered by the first symbol as well.

Feelings of fear and evil is a fabrication of the culturaly conditioned mind.
One can cling to it by rejecting it. One can cling to it by desiering security.
In both ways we empower this feeling of evil and fear.
When we "need" protection we desire security and we draw symbols recite the bible or kuran or metta, etc... We call for an outside entity to save us. All this because we reject something existing only in our own minds.
I once drew many symbols and called angels for protection from fear. I remained afraid even more so. There is no way out of fear and evil intelectualy. Only actualy can one uproot the cause of suffering.
Instead calm the mind by calming the body with each in and outbreath, and being aware of all bodily sensations, noticing all thoughts, letting go of them by bringing the awareness back to the whole body breathing. Do this daily for a few month and the need for protection will melt away. Instead yor Wisdom Eye and compassion will become sharper seeing things as they realy are.
This practice is called Shamatha-Vipassana.
