Feline Cushing's Disease
« on: July 29, 2010, 06:45:22 AM »
I'm writing here with an open mind, willing to try anything and everything.  My beloved cat, who has been my best friend and companion for the last 7+ years, was recently diagnosed with Cushing's Disease.  Unfortunately, his diagnosis was rather late in coming and he's had this condition, from what I suspect, for at least the past four months.  Fortunately I found something that is basically the only chance he has at surviving, called "Cushex drops", and even then, I'm worried that it's already too late in the game for it to be of benefit to him.

I'm really in a bad way right now emotionally over all this, and as I said before, am perfectly willing to try anything at this point.  A lady friend suggested this site to me, and since I have absolutely nothing to lose by trying, I'm asking right now ("desperately pleading" would be far more accurate) for anyone who thinks they may be able to help, to PLEASE send healing energy his way.  He deserves every chance in the world and I refuse to give up on him.

His name is "Little Boy".  He was born, appropriately enough, on April 01, 2003.  We live in Tunkhannock, PA. (Wyoming County, northeastern part of state.) The attached picture is roughly 2½ months old, as he's lost so much weight and fur and looks so emaciated now it's heartbreaking to look at.  Somebody, anybody, if it's not too late, please help. :'(

He passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2010.  I'm now down to my last cat, the oldest, who ironically has outlived the other four, is now dying as well, less than one month later.  It happened suddenly, without warning, starting five days ago.  Needless to say, I've loved them dearly, but I'm never having any more after this. My cosmological views are such that I have a certain degree of solace, but watching anything suffer, even if it's ultimately for a higher purpose, does little to alleviate the agony here and now.  That having been said, I am grateful that there are caring people in the world like those of you on this forum.  I appreciate your replies and just for being there.  Take care, all of you.

I am really sorry :(
I know how is to lose your pets, I lost a dog and a cat many years ago :/
What can I say, we must be strong and offer them our love until the last moment.
I will send Reiki for you and your last cat.

Thank you, I appreciate your care and concern.  If the link above wasn't working, I've randomly added a few pics of "Little Boy", my cat who passed away a month ago tomorrow.  I'll have to add pics of this one if I get a chance later on.  I have many more pics of the other cat because he was always much more photogenic and always outdoors, whereas the other cat, not so much, and since he's so old, always indoors, so you get the flash-blinding-in-the-eyes effect on all his pics.  I'll have to find ones from several years back, before he came to live here, to post later.  :) (I'll just post a couple in the same folder as the link above.)

So beautiful cats, I am really sorry  :(

Now the hard part is for you to let go, I know how it is.
My kitty is sick too and I hope he can last and get well but nobody knows ... to be sincere I don't even have a clear diagnostic since the tests contradict other doctors that gave no chance and so on .
