Reiki at the zoo

Featherpoint

Hi Everyone,

What an amazing experience I had today! I decided to take a trip to the zoo on a photographic expedition.  While there I opened myself to Reiki and some of the animals really drew it in! :o

The first was a wild turkey.  He stood looking at me, directly into my eyes. Didn't blink, didn't turn away, nothing.  Just stood there and pulled the Reiki into himself!

The next most notable point was outside the mountain goat area.  There were 3 visible goats in the enclosure, and one walked from up on top of the little 'mountain' he was on and stopped right in front of me. The most interesting part is that I noticed as he was walking he had a slight limp on his right hind hip.  When he stopped in front of me, he turned so that his right hip was closest to where I was standing and then laid down! Again, the Reiki just flowed.

I also had the pleasure of working with an animal called a Hyrax.  This enclosure had 4 of them in it, and one was obviously not well at all.  I asked for Reiki for him too, and he soaked it up.  As a side note, the zookeepers/vets were there checking him out, so the good news is they are aware of his not being well, and are doing what they can to help out.

The Reiki went on and off quite frequently throughout the time I was at the zoo, and I can only say it was an absolutely incredible experience!!

I would encourage all of you to share Reiki with our caged friends if you have a chance. ;)

Hello,

I had a similar experience a few wekks back. I was in a prk teaching a class and this guys gigantic dog came up near us. We talked to him and the animal. I was flowing Reiki and the dog came up to me a few times. Reiki started up. the third time around  I reached out to touch him on the top of his front left leg-which he displayed for me and he flinched a bit. The owner didnt think anything was wrong with him, but the Reiki was flowing for him.

...

my 2 cents

Hi Alaanu,

It's interesting how the animals can sense someone works with Reiki, and start to draw the energy when they need it.  They are very much in tune with it!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I love to hear how Reiki works with animals too.

Hi Featherpoint,

Thank you for sharing your experience at the zoo. Let me tell you something that happens here in Tennessee.

There is a park that takes in circus elephants that are too old or hurt, etc. It has a secret location. But there is a reiki class that goes up there and they are allowed to get up close and personal giving reiki to the elephants. They have shows about this place on PBS so you might have seen it.

Animals are smart and have senses that we do not have. I've learned from my dogs that if they don't like someone it's for a reason. And they have be on the mark about 100% of the time.

FP,

Thanks for sharing, that was lovely ;)

I've already given my new puppy a reiki session and she really seemed to enjoy it............didn't even try to nibble at my hands which is the norm :)
