Reiki And Meditation

As a meditator I got really interested the first time I learned that Usui and his followers meditated at gatherings before doing any healing. These meditations basically boost the flow of energy. Whenever time permits, I invest in 20 minutes of meditation before clients come round. I sense that it enhances the session on several levels. For one, it focuses the mind which prepares me for the session and of course a boost in energy cuts down on the time needed to complete the session.

While living in monasteries long-term, I've occasionally done some healing and I find it amazing how that dramatically boosts the flow. With a calm and focused mind, we're able to carry so much more energy...

Meditation combined with self-administered reiki prior to giving a reiki session phenomenally boosts the flow of reiki for me.  I always try to spend at least a few minutes before the session to activate the symbols, cleanse the room of negative energy and treat myself.

The longer I spend in a meditative state, the better balanced I feel and the easier it is to let my mind go quiet during the session.  Some powerful things have been the result!

One of the most amazing sessions was with a woman in her late 50s.  she was diabetic and had had no feeling in her lower extremeties for some time.  when I held her feet, she said she felt "an electrical current" flowing in both legs.  It was the first "feeling" she had in several years.

meditation is the root skill, and sure is the door to everything........

i have to give two points here... meditation does a boost to the energy flow as it enhances mindfulness, but if we are a little careless we might get into meditating in a way that we attach our session with outcomes and expectations... meditation often takes turns in the direction that we start imagining the happening or occurrence of the outcome that we want from the reiki session... in this way meditation can trigger bringing in our 'head' and intellect and ego in the session, a thing that is best to be minimized...

however, after having experienced this thing happening again and again, we gradually learn how to stay out of head during meditation, and how to let the things happen without us imagining them to happen during meditation....

but, in any case, meditation is sure always helpful... either immediately helpful or helpful in the long run through more training...

I agree and it also lets us be aware of the flow that was occurring that we were unaware of and to experience its power.
